Join us at ADM to celebrate International Women’s Day with our community, as bring before the Lord the needs of women and girls.
Since 1891, ADM has been an organisation founded on prayer. The Deaconesses, who began our first ministries, produced a yearly book of prayers and devotions and organised extended networks of prayer circles in homes and churches. Today, as we continue our mission to inspire and empower Christian women to bring the love of Jesus to a hurting world, we invite you to pray with us.
Hear from our speaker, Rev. Polly Jane Butterworth on 'The Power of Prayer in the Present"

Talk: The Power of Prayer in the Present
Prayer often hopes for the future or reflects on the past, but there is also power in prayer in the present. When we meet with our creator, we are blessed with the comfort of the Holy Spirit. We’re drawn into deep fellowship with one another and with God, uniting us across distance and time. As we pray for women and children around the world, our prayers go where we cannot. In prayer, we are also invited to rest in God’s grace and grow in humble dependence on him.
Speaker: Rev. Polly Jane Butterworth
Rev. Polly Jane Butterworth is a School Chaplain at Abbotsleigh, School’s Ministry Development Officer for the Sydney Anglican Diocese and will soon undertake a PhD focusing on preaching in compulsory settings. She loves thinking through how to communicate the gospel clearly to youth and has authored the book “The Mythical Life of the Good Christian Girl.” In her spare time, you will often find Polly creating something or spending quality time with friends and family.
