Why we serve
To see women in contexts of poverty and exclusion flourish in their image-bearing of God
Why we ‘do’ Mercy & Justice
For 125 years ADM has served in mercy and justice ministries to bring God’s love holistically to people in need.
Mercy and justice are at the core of God’s character, and at the core of ADM’s expression of God’s love in the world. Through our Mercy & Justice Ministries we aim to:
- Meet vulnerable women in their place of need and provide economic, social and spiritual support to rise up from this place
- Seek to address the systems that cause the diminishment of women
- Enable Christian women to do good works with a sustainable impact
- Point women to God as the ultimate source of mercy and justice
We have a great God who is reconciling the world to himself through Christ’s death and resurrection. He has demonstrated his love through Christ at the cross and continues to reveal his love as the gospel is proclaimed and Christians serve and love others.
We trust in Jesus’ work which frees us to serve God in His mission. We seek to address the consequences of sin in diminishing women’s image-bearing of God. We seek to be agents of God in the world to act for mercy and justice.
As a Christian women’s foundation, ADM provides
- impact funding
- capacity building
- networking support
to aligned partners in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the Pacific.
How we serve
Impact Funding – We fund local partners having positive impact in contexts in which we seek to work. We will use our funds in targeted ways to provide maximum possible impact.
Capacity building – We aim to build up the capacity and capability of local aligned partners. This funding will have a ‘multiplier effect’, allowing them to be effective in the long term.
Networking support – We support the growth of networks of aligned partners for learning and peer support.
Aligned partners – We work through local implementing partners that already have a presence in the communities where we seek to serve. Our aligned partners share our Christian faith and seek to raise up women. We will support local women and their work.
Pacific and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities – We will focus on serving women in our ‘neighbourhood’, the Pacific, and our ‘backyard’, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australian communities.
